Donald Driver's dad beaten by Houston police after dispute

HOUSTON -- The father of Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver was beaten by Houston, Texas, police officers as they arrested him for outstanding traffic warrants, Driver's family members claimed Wednesday.

As they beat him and forced him to swallow something, the officers told Marvin Driver Jr. he was "going to see Jesus," according to relatives and community activist Quanell Evans, who identified himself as Quanell X.
"Mr. Marvin Driver Jr. is now at Hermann Hospital in ICU where he can't even speak," relatives said in a statement. "Doctors say there is some bleeding on his brain from blunt force trauma."

Police said Driver was arrested for outstanding traffic warrants and was found to be "unresponsive" upon his arrival at jail. Paramedics transported him to the hospital, they said. The Houston Police Department said in a written statement it takes the assault allegations "very seriously, and will begin a thorough investigation into the matter."

The two officers involved remain on duty pending further investigation, police said.
However, relatives and Evans called for the officers involved to be suspended or placed on administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
The incident began late Sunday when Driver was dropping his brother, Winston Driver, off after the two had moved furniture, family members said.

Officers stopped Marvin Driver Jr. in front of his mother's home, relatives said. An argument took place between police and Driver's family, as well as between Driver and officers over the language police were using, according to the written statement issued by family members.

Police told relatives Driver was being taken to jail for the outstanding warrants, relatives said. "Later, the family found out he never made it to the jail," the statement said.

Relatives at first alleged Driver was picked up several blocks away by paramedics and that he was lying bloody and unconscious in the street. However, Evans told reporters Wednesday afternoon he had spoken to paramedics, and they had told him they had picked Driver up at the jail, and that he was injured, semiconscious and unresponsive when they arrived.

Houston Fire Department spokesman Omero Longoria told CNN Driver was picked up at a police substation and taken to the hospital. He said he did not know when Driver arrived at the jail or what his condition was when paramedics arrived.
Evans showed reporters paper towels upon which he said Driver had written his account. On them, he said Driver wrote that the police took him behind a Valero gas station and beat him. The officers kneed Driver and elbowed him in the throat, Evans said. They also made him swallow something, he said, telling him he was "going to see Jesus" and made disparaging remarks about his family, including "one particular family member."

One officer parked his cruiser behind the station and watched the beating, the activist alleged. Evans showed reporters photographs he said depicted Driver lying a hospital bed with a tube in his mouth.

One of the officers named in the arrest report is Hispanic and has a history of harassing African-Americans, Evans said. Driver also wrote on the paper towels that he knows the officer who beat him, Evans said. Winston Driver said at the news conference that after his brother dropped him off, he saw flashing lights from the house and went back outside.

"The officer I spoke with, he was real rude," he said. "The guy was out of control, basically." He said he searched for his brother for two days, only to be told he wasn't in the system. "I got totally upset about it," he said. Nothing in the police report indicates Driver was being combative or resisting arrest, Evans said.
"It is a shame how this man was treated. This is a man that was being arrested supposedly for only having traffic warrants, and traffic warrants turned into a severe beating of this magnitude."

He said he had spoken to Donald Driver, but would not divulge details of the conversation, saying only that "he is absolutely concerned about the condition of his father."

Another of Driver's sons, Michael, told reporters, "if we can't trust these people, who can we trust? ... I think that my father was targeted for being black."

Last night, I happened to stroll through the channels and happen to see that the Country Music Awards was on. Kid Rock was currently in the mid-part of his song, "All Summer Long". A few minutes of watching the rest of the performance, I happen to notice none other than "Weezy F. Baby" in the background, partying like a 'rockstar' with the guitar hero look, strumming it.

Well not really, he basically played along, mimmicking the movement and everything. A true surprise to see that, didn't know if anyone else had spotted it or seen the show.

For some reason, I'm now in the mood for a good Heineken Light beer and some fried chicken.

Drummer For Jimi Hendrix Found Dead

Mitch Mitchell, drummer for the legendary Jimi Hendrix Experience of the 1960s and the group's last surviving member, was found dead in his hotel room early Wednesday. He was 61.
Mitchell was a powerful force on the Hendrix band's 1967 debut album "Are You Experienced?" as well as the trio's albums "Electric Ladyland" and "Axis: Bold As Love." He had an explosive drumming style that can be heard in hard-charging songs such as "Fire" and "Manic Depression."
The Englishman had been drumming for the Experience Hendrix Tour, which performed Friday in Portland. It was the last stop on the West Coast part of the tour.
Hendrix died in 1970. Bass player Noel Redding died in 2003.

An employee at Portland's Benson Hotel called police after discovering Mitchell's body.
Erin Patrick, a deputy medical examiner, said Mitchell apparently died of natural causes. An autopsy was planned.
"He was a wonderful man, a brilliant musician and a true friend," said Janie Hendrix, chief executive of the Experience Hendrix Tour andJimi Hendrix' stepsister. "His role in shaping the sound of the Jimi Hendrix Experience cannot be underestimated."
Bob Merlis, a spokesman for the tour, said Mitchell had stayed in Portland for a four-day vacation and planned to leave Wednesday.
"It was a devastating surprise," Merlis said. "Nobody drummed like he did."
He said he saw Mitchell perform two weeks ago in Los Angeles, and the drummer appeared to be healthy and upbeat.
Merlis said the tour was designed to bring together veteran musicians who had known Hendrix — like Mitchell — and younger artists, such as Grammy-nominated winner Jonny Lang, who have been influenced by him.
Mitchell was a one-of-a-kind drummer whose "jazz-tinged" style was influenced by Max Roach and Elvin Jones, Merlis said. The work was a vital part of both the Jimi Hendrix Experience in the 1960s and the Experience Hendrix Tour that ended last week, he said.
"If Jimi Hendrix were still alive," Merlis said, "he would have acknowledged that."
During his career Mitchell played with the best in the business — not just Hendrix, but also Eric Clapton, John Lennon, the Rolling Stones,Jack Bruce, Jeff Beck, Muddy Waters and others.
Mitchell was a member of a later version of the Jimi Hendrix Experience that performed the closing set of the Woodstock Festivalin August 1969 — where Hendrix played a psychedelic version of "The Star-Spangled Banner" before the band launched into "Purple Haze."
The Jimi Hendrix Experience was inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 1992. According to the Hall of Fame, Mitchell was born July 9, 1947, in Ealing, England.
Hendrix, Redding and Mitchell held their first rehearsal in October 1966, according to the Hall of Fame's Web site.
In an interview last month with the Boston Herald, Mitchell said he met Hendrix "in this sleazy little club."
"We did some Chuck Berry and took it from there," Mitchell told the newspaper. "I suppose it worked."

As if being a trend setter wasn't enough, Chicago MC Kanye West has now coined his own genre of music. In a recent interview during a press day for 808's & Heartbreak, Kanye says that his latest sound is no longer Hip Hop--it's "Pop Art."

"Pop is such a clear lane and stuff for people to kinda do like bullshit music and it'll still work. So what happens if you take a person that is like super credible in the Hip Hop world--it's like I conquered this world now I'm coming into the lane where it's like just bullshit being made and be like "Nah, ok such and such--you gotta compete with THIS, and THIS has like seventy-two bars of real life lyrics from MY life that I wrote" said Kanye.

Shawn Marion makes me sad

Okay, if you knew me, (and I am assuming no one does) then you would know I am a huge basketball fan. The most beautiful thing in the world to me is the sight of a pure shooter shooting a jump shot.

Sorry, Eva Mendes, you're #2 on my list.

Anyways, back to my original thought. Right now, I am watching the New Orleans Hornets play the Miami Heat. A tear came to my eye while watching the game. Not because the game was that good, or because I had something in my eye, (which is my usual excuse), but because of Shawn Marions disgusting jump shot. Shawn Marion has one of the worse jump shots you will ever, ever see. Typically, you don't see jump shots that ugly outside of youth basketball camps, much less in the NBA. How Marion actually gets that atrocity of a jump shot to go in the basket and not get it stuffed back in his face will always be a mystery to me. Right now, I am calling out all of his middle school and high school coaches for not fixing that abomination earlier in his career.

But kudos to you Shawn, for making millions of dollars in the NBA, and having a jump shot that looks worse than mine.

All that's being on television is repeats and infomercials, like as if we're going to buy rubber towels that soak up gallons of water and liquids.

Las Vegas authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of New York rapper Mos Def.

According to TMZ, the rapper/actor is being sought after on charges of felony robbery and malicious destruction of personal property. Professional photographer Volker Corell is alleging the Brooklyn-bred emcee is responsible for reacting violently upon having images taken of him at the Men's Apparel and Garment Industry Convention (MAGIC) in Nevada back in August.

Corell, who was an official photographer for the event, claims Mos removed a camera from his neck and smashed it on to the ground before leaving the scene with the damaged parts. He has also reportedly attained a cut on his left hand following the rapper's attack.

A rep for Mos was unavailable for comment at press time.

In related news, the rapper is currently prepping the release of his upcoming fourth solo album The Ecstatic set to drop this winter.

The project's first single "Life in Marvelous Times" came out on Election Day as an ITunes exclusive.

The Ecstatic is currently scheduled to drop on Tuesday, February 9.

Def Jam Record’s Vice-President, Shakir Stewart, died today from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. According to Def Jam, Stewart's body was found in Atlanta. Some sources say Stewart shot himself in his home. No further details of the suicide, have emerged. “LA Reid and all of us at Island Def Jam Music Group are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and colleague Shakir Stewart,” Def Jam said in a statement released to VIBE today. “Shakir was an amazing man, in every sense of the word. A truly incredible friend and father who was an inspiration to not only our artists and employees, but to his family and the many people who had the privilege of counting him as a friend. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family at this very difficult time.” On June 3, Stewart was promoted to VP of Def Jam, where he reported directly to his mentor, Island Def Jam’s chairman, Antonio “L.A.” Reid. Shakir, who was mainly seen dressed sharp as a tac, was based in New York and Los Angeles. Prior to his newest position, Stewart served as the Senior Vice President of A&R at Def Jam, where he signed acts ranging from Rick Ross, to Young Jeezy. Stewart was always a hustler. An Oakland, California native, Stewart graduated from Morehouse College in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing. US software behemoth Microsoft has doubled a cash reward for information on the whereabouts of a Canadian boy who ran away from home after his father took away his Xbox game console, it said Tuesday.
Brandon Crisp, 15, took off on his bicycle from his Barrie, Ontario home on October 13 -- Canada's Thanksgiving holiday -- and rode east along an old rail line.
He has not been seen since.
His father told local media he had removed Brandon's Xbox, built by Microsoft, after noticing changes in behavior since Brandon started playing "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" online.
The boy started skipping school, stealing money and ignoring his studies, his father said.
A local newspaper, the family's Internet service provider and Child Find offered a 25,000-dollar (19,500-dollar US) reward for information leading to his return.
Microsoft topped it up with another 25,000 dollars, the company said Tuesday in an email to AFP, "hoping for his swift return."
"Like everyone, we are deeply worried about the disappearance of Brandon Crisp," the company said.
Exhaustive searches have not turned up a single clue beyond the boy's bicycle, found last week with a flat tire.
Police are said to be examining who Brandon played with online. "Law enforcement has contacted Microsoft about this matter and we are cooperating fully with them," said Microsoft.
On Sunday, 1,600 volunteer searchers packed up their reflective vests and ended their efforts to find him, while police stopped their air and water search.
In an interview with the daily Globe and Mail, the boy's father, Steve Crisp, said he had not known how important the gaming system was to his son and how he would react when it was taken away
Experts commented that gamers may form bonds with fellow online players.
"This had become his identity, and I didn't realize how in-depth this was until I took his Xbox away," Steve Crisp told the Globe and Mail. "That's like cutting his legs off."
"This is such an issue that hits every parent out there, with video games that are starting to control our kids' lives," he said.
"I just took away his identity, so I can understand why he got so mad and took off. Before, I couldn't understand why he was taking off for taking his game away."
Now, Brandon's father says he just wants his son to come home.

El DeBarge Gone To Prison ..

El DeBarge, the legendary singer and founder of the sibling group DeBarge, was sentenced Tuesday evening to two-years in prison following a Los Angeles drug bust.

DeBarge will serve in California State Prison in Lancaster. The singer was arrested after cops noticed he had two warrants out for his arrest. Cops reportedly found crack cocaine in his possession. DeBarge was still on parole for a 2007 drug bust.

Last year, El, real name Patrick Eldra DeBarge, was charged with everything from drugs, and vandalism, to domestic violence. He has been locked up immediately, following his sentencing yesterday.

In "Rollin' With Dre: The Unauthorized Account," Dr. Dre's former right-hand man tells all concerning his heyday hanging with the legendary West Coast producer. But now Dre has something to tell Bruce: Give me my money.

On Tuesday, Dr. Dre filed a lawsuit against Williams alleging he owes him $101,377.85. The money was reportedly given to Williams as a loan, TMZ reports. Though no further details of the suit has surfaced, Williams has been described as a "best friend" of Dr. Dre, and is fondly known as "Uncle Bruce."

You know, it's time like these when fans at home see this snapshot from their team's opponents with the last few seconds on the clock. Then you cheer and hope with a turkey wishbone that it gets blocked or a gust of winds sends it slanting sideways. Well ... today it happened twice, once in Atlanta which I was glad for, and in Washington, which I damn sure wasn't happy.

Seeing your team lose brilliantly to a winless team thanks to some rookie receiver grabbing a "game" catch causing the kick. Note, their kicker who was formerly with the Seahawks did the same two years ago, playoff time, in which he missed it. Today was "redemption" and he got it.

Redskins were counted as to win by 15, yet lose by 2 ... yeah, so here I am, watching this Arizona/Dallas game with a few shots of JD already in, hoping for Fallas to lose ... ((hopefully))

We seen already one from Detroit Lions, now I'm pretty sure Scott Linehan and Kiffin from the Raiders will probably get the papers. Although Kiffin has lost some close games. Maybe Linehan, losing consecutively and out of nowhere, demoting your franchise QB to the bench for a beat-up QB, no dis-respect, but Trent has lost the "spark", the injuries he's taken, I don't see it as a good call. This week, I'm going to shed a tear, due to my Washington Redskins being without the "great" Jason Taylor on the line, therefor not only scheduled to not be in the line-up this Sunday, against the 'hated' Cowgirls ... but to end his game streak. Atleast he's gone to do this now, as it would've not looked good in the future ... Here's what had happened....

"Taylor was kicked in the shin in Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. A Redskins source told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen that Taylor's shin "blew up like a balloon." Taylor was in excruciating pain Monday morning and doctors became concerned he could suffer nerve damage."

The most unlikely shit you never want to happen, happens anyways. It's crazy. If Jason didn't decide to go in for this procedure/surgery, well he would've died, so the doctors said to the reporter. So atleast the shit is being cured right now, and hopefully he'll be back out their, making "burgers" out of the QB's.

Juan Dixon's Return As A Wizards Causes Excitement!

Guard Juan Dixon signed a free-agent contract with the Washington Wizards on Tuesday, returning to the team that drafted him after he led Maryland to an NCAA title.

Dixon played his first three NBA seasons with the Wizards, from 2002-03 to 2004-05. He has also been with Portland, Toronto and Detroit, averaging 8.9 points, 1.7 assists and 1.9 rebounds over six seasons.
"He's a proven NBA player. He's a tough, hard-nosed competitor," Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld said.
After beginning last season with the Raptors, Dixon was traded to the Pistons in February.
He was selected the Most Outstanding Player of the 2002 Final Four for helping Maryland win the national championship, then was picked in the first round of that year's NBA draft by the Wizards.

Rap star T.I. won a child support dispute today against the mother of two of his kids. The rapper will now be ordered to pay $3,000 a month for child support as opposed to the original $10,000 requested.

The mother, 29-year-old Lashon Dixon, is currently getting $2,000 a month, TMZ reports. Dixon, who filed suit in early September, claimed she wasn’t able to afford to take care of their two sons off the $2,000 she was receiving, and wanted to raise the stipend to reflect what the rapper was receiving as a highly-paid entertainer.

Quick to respond, T.I. said that Dixon was simply trying to get over on him. “She has chosen not to work and to live 100 percent from her child support receipts,” he said. “This is the reason for her difficulties in making ends meet for herself… I should only be judged for my actions and not Lashon’s conscience decision not to work and not to contribute to the financial support of our boys.”

Soon after the suit was filed, the rapper posted a statement on his website defending himself.

“To clarify the recent reports, in addition to the $2000 per month I pay in cash to Lashon Dixon, the mother of my sons Domani and Messiah, I also pay for their private schooling, medical insurance, clothing, food, gifts, birthdays and extracurricular activities. Their extra-curricular activities have included football, basketball, baseball, acting lessons, summer camp, and any other activities that they express a desire to be involved in that will contribute to them leading balanced lives and developing into well rounded individuals.

That was a damn good game .... Come from behind win, by the Skins. Santana Moss, Clinton Portis, Jason Campbell ... and CHRIS HORTON!!

Many wonder where the hell the guy from, his debut NFL start, filling in for the sickened Reed Doughty. If I was Zorn, I'd surely be placing Horton in the line-up. Doughty is alright, but Horton truly showed today, HE WANTS IT! Two INT's including the game-winning INT to seal the deal, and a Fumble Recovery ... Totally Bad-Ass!

For Portis and the rest of the offense, they connected well in the 3rd and 4th Quarter. All they need to do is work on more to score early and often and kill the "Late Scoring" shit. It doesn't work all the time, but you know what ... It felt damn good.

Good games today, the heart-breaker being the Chargers/Broncos game. Holy hell, two games in a row, Chargers have lost in the last few seconds ... in a total of Eight seconds. Weird ... very weird. It shows you, score on opportunities given to you.

It's currently half-time in the Browns/Steelers game, the wind playing a major role in the game. So far, 7 to 0, Steelers. Good game, with the wind. Debris flying everywhere, lol ...

So this week should be pretty damn exciting, any Sunday is exciting now during football season for me. It beats the many hours of ads for weightloss lies and bullshit gadgets don't will never work. So here we are ... Week 2 Predictions from your's truly ...

Tennessee Titans at Cincinnati Bengals - I like the Bengals ... Poor Ocho Cinco, he has to pay 4.18 Million, just to buy out his jerseys so they can out the "Ocho Cinco" ones.

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions - *Coughs* ... Now although I know Detroit has the "High-Octaned" Offense, I must go and become a Sin, voting for Packers. XD

Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs - I like the Chiefs in this one, Oakland's D got outshown last week and their waste of profit in their players was nothing more than hilarious last Monday night. Plus Chiefs are what I like to call "Silent Assassins", most oversee them, but this week, they'll take victory

New York Giants at St. Louis Rams - Now, usually I'd take the Giants, they had a long resting week. But my pick of the day will go to the Rams. Now sure, they got humiliated like hell last week, but again, they will hopefully have their shit together.

Indianapolis Colts at Minnesota Vikings - I'd pick the Vikings, their QB needs to make the necessary improvements or they change to a different one. Indy took a defeat last week that was very "un-ordinary". Peyton's got the "rust" off and he'll be ready to get revenge for that loss.

New Orleans Saints at Washington Redskins - Saints are dangerous, but although my Skins loss to Giants, they did hold them to just one touchdown, with like a load of FG's made. I like the Skins ... I believe what I hear on the news ... they got something in tact for Saints.

Chicago Bears at Carolina Panthers - Nope, not the Bears. I like Carolina, even though without Steve Smith, next week, he'll be in the lineup, however they have Mushin, and the rest of the crew, plus I like my man DeAngelo Williams.

Buffalo Bills at Jacksonville Jaguars - This is a hard pick for me. I like both teams, Jaguars pulled out a win last week, so did Buffalo. Buffalo definitely showed off their skills last week against the Seahawks. I mean the rushing attack was there, the passing, the defense, and the Special Teams surely was there. I have to throw a quarter on this one and it'll say Buffalo Bills.

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks - I was definitely disappointed in the Hawks' last week. They got beat up every way possible. Maybe they'll do better this week.

It just falls in his hands, almost slipping, but he held it. Pump Fake is deadly, lol. Don't be fooled this week, You got Jay Cutler and that wicked receiver, Eddie Royal.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns - UPSET OF THE WEEK! Browns over the Steelers. Now I know ya'll who like the Black and Gold/Yellow/Whatever ... will likely want to smash my face in, but it's there and said.

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys - The Reunion, lmao. This one is going to be a fucking ball come Monday Night. D-Naab vs. T.O. Who'll win this round? I'll say Eagles. Even some of the experts have said Cowboys never won on a Monday Night game. Jessica is to be there ... Jinx!

Now this game wasn't even suppose to happen on Monday Night, but due to the change of schedule with the Hurricane Ike disaster and it's pulling of five panels off of the Reliant Stadium, the schedule is changed a bit. So this game should be hard-hitting.

Edition One: "Look Twice Before Throwing When Game Is On The Line"

Inspired from this Packs/Vikings game, I thought I would introduce a new feature onto the blog, entitled "What In The Hell Were You Thinking?" This first one goes to the one who inspired me for this. Mr. Traveres Jackson, the QB for the Minnesota Vikings.

Now yes, I know the kid had alot to learn, it's his 3rd season for god sake. He's fast, he reminds you somewhat of Mike Vick with the ability to jinx the D' and scramble for huge yardage. However, tonight was the night for a huge upset.

Green Bay surely helping out the Vikes early and often in this match with this 22-penalty called night. Never have I seen as many flags fly in a football game.

So, what in the hell was Jackson thinking when throwing that damn interception when the guy was covered. Look twice before throwing.

Now I know MX had to almost piss himself seeing that the Vikes were close to stealing this one, if not for that damn INT. His Packers was "eh". Yes, "EH". I believe these two face off again down the road, so hopefully the Vikes will step shit up and get their QB to know how to read under pressure when down only a TD. Do what John Madden says in the Madden 09 commercial, "Just don't do stupid things ...". Traveres, you just learned yet another lesson, my "Runnin' Wild" friend.

My own personal note, Green Bay got away with a lot of damn calls that should've been called on their defense. Like two Pass Interferences, and some other stuff that the refs' played "Blind" on.

Highlight of the night has to go to Adrian Peterson, trucking the shit out of Al Harris. Sorry Al, you got owned on this .... Couldn't get the picture yet, so I got what I could.

I beat Connect Four in one move ...

That's pretty much sums up what homeboy from the Chiefs did to The Golden Boy, Tom Brady. What will the NFL do without their "Golden Boy"? The same thing it's been doing. What will those kids with their fantasy football teams do now that their hopeful QB would bring them into a run? Kill themselves. I enjoyed every bit of that game. Although I don't like seeing people injured, I noted that Karma is indeed a bitch when it wants to show up. Now the Patriots are led behind their back-up, Matt Cassel at QB. Will he step it up a notch, or continue to play "manager". The season is of course still young, so for those Patriot fans, you better pray your coach has some tricks up his sleeve for the next fifteen weeks.

I know my boy MX over at Two-Shots is pretty much anticipating the game tommorow night between the Packs and Vikings ... I'm with the Vikes, he's a "Packs" fan. So I can't wait to see that game, it'll be hard and tough. The Vikes will win though ... Unlike today, MNF should be more interesting. The Chargers/Panthers and Saints/Bucs seemed to be the only "heart-clinching" games today. Let me not forget the Dolphins/Jets game ... they had me not blinking one bit, Favre still making "praying" passes and his WR corp being lucky to catch them.

Yep and second after Gustav is now Hurricane Hannah. So far from what I've gotten out of the news tonight is that it's suppose to make landfall here in Maryland where I am, by tonight doing partial, then another load tommorow from 10 in the mornin' till 4 in the afternoon. Then again on Sunday.

Tonight is the night, NFL Kickoff. We've been waiting for this season to come back as quick as possible, I know I did. No need to wait anymore, tonight the NFL kicks off with the Washington Redskins versing the Super Bowl 42 Champs, New York Giants!!

I'm badly wanting my Redskins to win. To see Santana Moss burn the shit outta' the defense. As well as wanting to see if the Defense can show up. This night and Sunday will be awesome!

Predix: Ravens .... FLACCOOOOOOO!! I dunno even know if Mr. Ocho Cinco is in the lineup, I know last I heard, his shoulder was injured. Then again I dunno. 85 is surprise! However, Cincy' might bring the heat, but with Lewis, Reed, McCallister, and Rolle ... it's gonna be a slugfest!

Predix: I still like Seattle, even though the departure with Alexander and that Matt's wife is a total bitch, I like the 'Hawks'. Buffalo will be a serious contender with Edwards and Marshawn Lynch, another surprise team.

Predix: I did like the Jets till they got Favre. This game is what I call "Revenge" if I was Chad Pennington. Dolphins might upset the Jets. I have a feeling it'll be a different season then last year.

Predix: Bears suck, Hester's great, D's okay, Offense ... sucks ass. Peyton will be giving a shit-eating grin this whole game, torturing em' through the air. Harrison and Wayne. Oh yes ... and this is gonna be in the new stadium. Not to mention, SB 41 Rematch!

Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers
Predix: No Packers ... Nah. ADDDRRIIIAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! The Vikings will take this (so I hope). I'm finally glad to see Aaron Rodgers no longer being shadow puppet and finally getting his time to shine, so it will be interesting overall, plus this is a RIVALRY! Hell will be unleashed, folks!

Denver Broncos vs. Oakland Raiders
Predix: I'm taking the silver and black. The Defense is just way too strong, with the addition of DeAngelo Hall, the Raider's D will be looking to send Broncos down under. Hopefully Cutler will be on game as well as the receivers ... Oakland's D is fast ... so this should be a good one. This being on the same night as the Packs/Viking ... Monday Night Double-Header. Hell Yeah!

Now on my homeboy's blog Two-Shot, he posted a blog about the guy, who leaked GnR's Chinese Democracy tracks. Well here's a follow up, days later ...

Former GUNS N ROSES guitarist Slash has blasted the bootlegger who reportedly leaked nine songs from the band's long-awaited album CHINESE DEMOCRACY.

The album has become something of an industry joke, having now been almost 14 years in the making.

However, the FBI arrested Kevin Cogill earlier this week after he posted completed songs on his website in June.

Currently released on bail, he could still face up to three years in prison and $250,000 (£138,000) in fines.

Slash – who has not been part of the band since 1997 – had some strong word or Cogill's actions

"I hope he rots in jail. It's going to affect the sales of the record, and it's not fair. The internet is what it is, and you have to deal with it accordingly, but I think if someone goes and steals something, it's theft."

It was recently reported that Dr Pepper was offering a free can of its drink to everyone in the US if the album is released this year.

I-I-I get it. I run New York...or rather I run myself into a silent treatment sort of situaton. So get this. My cousin tells me that if I fall in the water she will laugh, I call her an asshole so she gets upset. Her mother tries to play on some dominant shit telling me I can't stay in the house if I'm "above being spoken to". I'm looking at this chick like "WTF are you talking about?" So now my cousin tells me since I think she's an asshole, she'll treat me like one. I could only laugh to myself because this chick has no clue what an asshole is if she thinks the silent treatment is what's going to kill me. Home girl better up her game up cause my father had made a living out of ignoring his family when he wants nothing to do with them. This is just a cake-walk for me. She doesn't know how truly cold and calculating a human can be, she can only imagine. I know at first hand experience. So she can play the cute "omg neva goin to talk to u foreva!!!!!!!1111oneoneoneelevenone" bullshit all she wants because she's not ready to be an asshole.

She's an intern at it. Being an asshole? I got my doctorate and I'm well certified ladies and gentlemen so she can kill it cause she's not ready for it. Tae-Kwon-Do or whatever karate bullshit won't help her in this one cause my mind is more mentally strong and adept to hate and isolation than hers. I can inhale and exhale hate longer than most. I dwell in the negativity and ignorance. I can transform into it. When push comes to shove, I am it. So she can live in her fantasy world thinking she's cruel and she's somewhat hurt me but look at me, I'm too fucking thick skinned and hard headed to feel a thing. You think I lose sleep at night over this chick? Gotta be kidding me. Poor kid, she has no clue what mental war she has gotten herself into. I'll have to TKO her ass out by mind now. Update: She found herself too weak and broke down back to her normal self by early evening today. Shame. Would have been a mental fight for the ages.

Speaking of the NFL, I wish Texans' WR, Harry Williams a speedy recovery from the surgery due to him taking a hell of a colllision by his own mate in last week's game vs. Cowboys. A broken vertebrae and the saying of the guy's career being done and over. Only played one game I believe last year (in his stats). Definitely sucks. So I'm hoping dude a speedy recovery. Miracles do happen, just ask Kevin Everrett.

Giants' Umenyiora requires season-ending knee surgery

The New York Giants' Osi Umenyiora needs season-ending knee surgery, NFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting. The Pro Bowl defensive end has a torn MCL.

Umenyiora injured his left knee in the second quarter of the New York Giants' preseason game against the New York Jets.
Umenyiora started all 16 games last season and had 52 tackles and a team-high 13 sacks. He added seven tackles in the Giants' run to the Super Bowl.
The Giants are a bit thin at defensive end this season with the retirement of seven-time Pro Bowler Michael Strahan. Tuck has replaced Strahan. New York also signed veteran Renaldo Wynn in the offseason.

With Umenyiora sidelined, the Giants could move strongside linebacker Mathias Kiwanuka back to defensive end. He was switched to linebacker last year so the team could put its best 11 players on the field.

"You are always concerned any time a player like that goes down," Kiwanuka said. "That's not good. We know the type of player he is and if he can come back he will. But we have the personnel to step up in his absence."

Kiwanuka sidestepped moving back to defensive end, saying that decision is up to the team.

Merriman weighs options for 'career-threatening' knee injury
Chargers Pro Bowl linebacker Shawne Merriman said Saturday he has two torn ligaments in his left knee and has been told by doctors that he could suffer a possible career-ending injury if he attempts to play without having surgery.
Merriman said he has tears in both the posterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments. He said doctors agree that he needs surgery to repair the damage.

"It could be career-threatening if I did (play)," Merriman said. "It's a possibility. That possibility is still open."

A course of action has not been decided. Merriman, who will consult with a doctor in Miami early next week before making a decision, has been told reconstructive surgery would sideline him for the entire 2008 season. Another option is a less-invasive surgery that would allow him to play at some point in the season.

"They've all said the same things about the injury," Merriman said. "(They're) kind of surprised that I've been playing with it up to this point."

The Chargers open the regular season Sept. 7 against the Carolina Panthers. Merriman wants to play this season.

"That's first and foremost," Merriman said. "That's what I want to do. That's why this decision is even out there still and not already made, because I want to play, period. The question is what should I do? How long should I play with it?

"It's a thousand different options at this point and I'm just trying to make the best one."

Merriman left the team Tuesday to seek opinions from other doctors, a trek that included a visit with renowned surgeon James Andrews on Wednesday in Birmingham, Ala. He said he is seeking as many opinions as he can for a reason.

"I'm just trying to make the best decision possible for the team and for my career," Merriman said.
Coach Norv Turner has remained optimistic all week that Merriman will be able to play this season. He again expressed that hope Saturday.

"Right now, in talking to him, his mind-set is he's doing everything he can to get ready for Carolina, our opener," Turner said. "He just wants to get a little bit more information on his knee."
Merriman has made the Pro Bowl in each of his three NFL seasons. He has 39½ sacks in that span, more than any other NFL player.

This sucks ass ... First Merriman, now Osi. Osi being gone for the season, that's a fucking blow to the defense. Merriman should just take the surgery option, even though he not likely will be with the Chargers next year due to contract. I'd like to see Merriman come back and not risk his career just to prove a point. Go get it cured now, and hopefully next season, everything will be alright (hopefully). So much going on in the NFL right now, as far as injuries ... this is why I don't like having the starters play these quarters/ whole half and shit ... TOO risky!

I'm still cleaning up from last night's massacre of the Skins'/Panther's game. What the hell happened? Gameplanning, my ass ... Peppers was making my Skins' pro-offensive line look like rookies.

Have you ever went to sleep at nights, only for a delirious scene to take place. Sometimes it's a good one, a dream you only wished for to happen, and one that is downright maddening?

Well I went through what could be described as deep, intense dream. Basically I went to one of my friend's birthday party. All had turned out fine and well, until all of the guests were leaving. I was already in the car, waiting for my girlfriend to stop mingling with the folks, wanting her to get her ass in the car. It was late as hell, it seemed. Well only a few minutes in waiting time, two dudes had bumped into each other in their ride. It was indeed unintentional. I seen no harm in it. Both however got out of the car with foul words and stepped into each other's face. All with that happening, two white delivery vans came rolling through. With those two arguing, they had both reached underneath their sport jacket, grabbing their pistol. Everyone unaware of this shit, how could you be aware of something like this.

So as it kept becoming a standstill that was just words flowing from each other's mouth about the car and then it scaled to something else. That led to one of the guys going to the white van and opening the door. Come to find out after the door opened, the guy was heavily stacked with shells and AK-47's. He turned around swiftly, as the guy saw it. He took no chance and quickly shot the guy with the AK-47 right in his temple. One shot ... accurate as hell, right?

Soon as he shot the guy, those who had ducked for cover were smart. That supposed to have been me, aware and smart to drive the hell off. However in this dream, I was the 'dunts' or howerver you spell it. Just sitting there and watching this unfold. Others were around too, the nosey ass guests. Soon as the guy shot him, lord behold, the van was stacked with not only weapons but men in black (no pun intended), ski-masks, all the gear on. They were already armed and up. A damn shootout had become of the scene. The guy who shot the other guy had become nothing but blood and pieces of flesh spread around his ride and the other guy's ride. Those nosey ass guests were no more either. The guys in black, chose to shoot at both cars causing both to explode in a chain reaction-like behavior.

Where was I? Still there ... this is totally not me. If I even see one fucker pull out something, before he can unveil it, I'm gone. Hell I'll be gone soon as the event is over with. In this scene, I was still there. Then the light bulb clicked on, telling myself why not go ahead and go now before anything else happen. Yeah, doing that only triggered the peeps in the van to see us leave in hastily fashion. Spinning around in their white unmarked van, they were armed, aiming at my ride. Next thing you know, I'm ducking for cover and shit while my ride gets fucked in the ultimate way.

You know that scene from "Set It Off" when Queen Latifah was in her ride, and it got shot up, and the fucker slowed down? Same shit happened to my ride, w/o the tricks inside. Heat was felt underneath the car, a fucking fire was happening as I got the chance to peek out the mirror to see flaring flames come up the side of the car. Next thing you know ....

Shit blew up.

I woke up in an instant, sweaty as shit.

.... I must sleep 'safe' from now on ...

Dave Matthews Band saxophonist dies at 46

LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of the Dave Matthews Band, died Tuesday from complications stemming from injuries he sustained in an ATV accident, the band's publicist said.

Moore, 46, died "unexpectedly" at a hospital, publicist Ambrosia Healy said in a statement.

Moore was taken to Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, and had been rehabilitating at his L.A. home after the June 30 accident at his farm outside Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Dave Matthews Band was formed in Charlottesville in 1991 by Matthews, drummer Carter Beauford and Moore, an established saxophonist in the local music scene.

Getting yelled at while joking with my cousin. Man this place is retarded as fuck and I'm just tired of it. I get bit by mosquitoes and nothing including the shit they buy for me works. The only thing that would work I can't buy because my cousin doesn't like a mosquito net (wow holy fuck, you're worried about a little more heat and I'm worried about malaria...I wonder who has more important concerns). It's been overall a fucked day and I just wanted to blog about it. I plan to update a playlist on my MP3 player so I don't have to deal with these jackasses during crunch time for my other cousin's wedding.

Uh what's that? Can't hear you, listening to music...video...whatever the fuck is NOT you. Little children will be like "let me listen to your MP3" and I will be like "go to hell". Then inform them I can buy their house five times over with ease. Cruel? Yes. But the people in this country are cruel. Think about the most ignorant, rude, horrendous versions of black people like ghetto people times two and stuff all those people on one island. It's Jamaica. Fuck this country. Fuck it right in it's ass with no lube. I can't wait until I get my own room. I will get a job, hustle hard as fuck, beg, do whatever it takes to make my life comfortable and American-like. All I need is this laptop and an entertainment system with a video game console. You will never see this fucker walking the streets of Kingston AGAIN! They will be like

and I'll be like, "NO."

Fuck these people. They think I'm bad when I talk? Wait until you can't get a fucking word out of me. Wait until you see me in my coldest rawest form. There is a reason why people prefer to call me Glacier than Daemon. They'll see why when I give them the cold shoulder and ignore them.

Favre, Just Give It Up, Mate!

The man has done alot in his career within the NFL Organization. Last season ended on a good note. You deleted the season before the latest one and did what 'Favre' does, that is "Win". Now, I'm no Packers fan, but I give credit where credit is due. You've done alot for the Packers organization, so just take a back seat and let the other QB get his chance to shine. Hell, Favre could give tips to help develop the young quarterback that is Aaron Rodgers. But then I quickly forgot that Favre said that night about it wasn't in his contract to teach or help out the younger Quarterbacks, which is pretty damn selfish. While true, for a man with those wonderful stats and acheivements, you're telling me you couldn't assert yourself to helping out the younger ones in helping them to level their game up.

So now, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New York Jets are now within this huge debacle with the trade rumours for Favre. Bucs' have Garcia, that's good enough. They have talent in the QB position. Jets have Pennington and Clemmens. Why would you waste a trade on Favre? Trade for a top threat receiver or something, not on Favre.

So basically now Brett isn't in the right 'mindset' to play for the Packs'. Goodell should've never reinstated Favre. As they say, the saga continues.

All I hope for is that Favre doesn't come across "Mr. Lights Out" Shawne Merriman, because it will disasterous. Favre' really should've took the money to retire and be with his family ....
